My First Stage Performance

On the ocassion of Gurupoornima , Kalanjali - The Centre for Learning had organized a cultural programme at the RV Teacher's Auditorium. The programme began with tiny tots reciting Shlokas.This was Tanisha's first stage performance.She was in a traditional South Indian dress ,adorned with jewels and flowers.She even got a chance to felicitate her Guru and take her blessings .Singing with her best friends Pranav and Aditya was an enjoyable experience for her.

Diya visits Taashu

Today Diya visited Taashu and both had fun. Taashu chanted lots of shlokas starting with 'Ganaa naam'. Ganesh uncle was all excited to listen to her spontaneous flow of slokas.

Trip to stone age

On the way back from Ranganthithu we as usual stopped at Kamath Lok Ruchi which is our favourite spot to enjoy North Karnataka cuisine.Just adjascent to it is "Janpadloka" .We were just in time to take a stroll around that place .It was an enchanting place which showcases Karnataka's tribal art and culture .Many students come over to learn sculpting ,pottery making n clay modelling. One room showcased the olden days kitchen ware .Tanisha found it very interesting .She was astonished to see the olden days stove ,cooker ,raincoat n the hand mill (used to make flour from grains).In another room were the traditional musical instruments , swords ,knives kathputhlis (puppets) and the traditional dresses.We were trying to get some ideas for the coming fancy dress competition for Tanisha. :)

Weekend outing

Tanisha was all excited about going to the picnic and so recently we visited Ranganthitthu Bird Sanctuary. This was the day after which city had rocked with serial bomb blasts. As soon as she woke up in the morning she shouted loudly --"yupeeee we r going to the picnic " n she woke us up.She had been dreaming the whole nite about it. The boat ride at bird santuary was adventurous for Tanisha as she saw aligators up close along with numerous birds n their nests.
After the boat ride Tanisha saw a "touch me not " plant. She was completely mesmerized when she saw the plant shying away on touching.That time she realized that plants too have life !

Trading!

Tanisha visited her friend Samiksha on her birthday.They have a pet dog called Zorro. Tanisha got along very well with Zorrol. After some inhibitions she started patting his back then head and even hugging him. She was so much in love with Zorro that she wanted to trade her best toys with Samiksha for him. While leaving she was sad .But the next morning she told us about her dream. She said "I had a very beautiful dream . Zorro was in it and he was her pet."

Tanisha joins I-CUE

Recently we discovered a children's library called I-CUE. I-Cue is for kids from age 0 to 15 yrs. It is a very attractive place n once a child enters in does not want to leave. The books are wonderful. - both content and qualitywise. I-CUE even host some weekend events like "Science hour" which deals with Fun science, Story Time from noted institution called "Kathalaya" etc. They even have a science room and an art room for the budding scientists /artists. I wud surely insist people reading this blog to visit I-CUE at JPNagar (near Ambarish park). It is worth it .

Water Baby

This summer Tanisha learnt swimming .She enjoyed her swimming classes as it was her mom and not the trainer who taught her to swim.I have seen many kids get scared of the trainer as they just push them into the water.We wanted Tanisha to take her time n have fun learning to swim .Within a month she started jumping in the deep water fearlessly n learnt to swim.

Me and naughty!

The summer vacations were an experience of knowing the naughty side of my dear little daughter .I wud like to narrate this perticular incident which me n my sister will never forget.

One day i was helping my mom out in the kitchen and i could hear the kids giggle in the adjoining room......After some time i just thought of peeping n seeing what they were doing! N the scene was like Tanisha n Ayush were all soaked in oil from head to toe with oil dripping off their body drop by drop.Just then i saw the walls of the room...n to my horror all the walls had oily hand prints n the worst was yet to come ......Those juicy Alphonsos kept in a basket were all bathing in oil :(.I was stunned for a minute. n then i dint know wheather to laugh or to cry .Putting my anger on a shelf we took kids for a bath.Thanks to the washable walls we cud remove the oil stains .

I would want their granny to narrate these incidents to them when they grow up .Tanisha might find it difficult to believe that she was a naughty monster :))

Hey who is sitting on our caps??

The cudly monkey n the polka dotted puppy were all excited to go on a trip.The Panchmadhi trip was funfilled with raging hot sun to contrast with splashes of water from the waterfall.The long trecks were followed by soothing sunset views.A place of worship in the lap of the nature is a must visit hill station in Madhya Pradesh .Tanisha still cherishes her first trip with her dear bhai. :)

Galibore trip

Recently we visited a place called Galibore ,a serene beauty with the cauvery river flowing by,Tanisha loved staying in the jungle lodges .Her experience of coracle ride , fishing n playing in the sand n water was thrilling.She wants to go n stay there forever . :))

My First Prize

HAPPY DIWALI

Have a very happy Diwali ! Tashu is very exited about diwali .She wants to know n do all...rite from lighting the diya's ,bursting crackers helping mom in diwali clean up or getting dressed for the festival.Her school has generated a lot of interest in her mind about DIpavali .she made a sweet little greeting card with a diya on it .in her school.

Hope this Diwali brings lots of joy to ur life.

Sports Drill-Thrill

On 2nd october tashu is having annual sports day.Today their school had organised a practice drill at VET ground.Since this ground is just behind the my appartment ,i went to the terrace well equipped with the binoculours n sonycam just to catch one glimpse of my daughter :)I even forgot that we have been invited to see the same " well polished drill "the next day.n then i spotted her with a big ring in her hand performing exercises.Oh....... it was soooo thrilling :))

My Red Shineey Boots.

Tashu was after her Daddy even before he woke up.She was asking for her Big Red Boots.We bought it 5 months back n had kept it on the loft because it was oversize. N then when she got the boots the fun started ....She got dressed up all in red ,doing the perfect catwalk.:)She is just waiting to show it to her friends.Mommy n daddy are surpised to learn that she remembers all her things so well.

Tashu's Best Buddy Bunny

Tashu starts and ends her day with Bunny. They both chat , dance and play with each other . Games like Teacher -Teacher ,Doctor-Patient,Mother -Daughter, Brother -Sister go on and on. Some times we too get some small side roles to play. :) By the way Bunny is her best soft toy gifted by her Alok kaka.

Special Bonding

Tashu is in love with Diya ...she wanted to come here early in the morning to tie a rakhi to Diya :) .Evening she will be ready for the big rakshabandhan celebration , dressed up.
